Aviation Photography – IAF Airshow

Some more images from the last independence day events, this time by Ella Ran. The Tel-Aviv beach hosted an IAF Airshow, where citizens could view from up-close various airshow acts. The top might have been the IAF aerobatic team, but the airshow also featured mid-air refuelling, naval rescue by helicopters, a skydiving exhibition and various other aircraft flying by and demonstrating their abilities.

Taking aviation photos is quite a challenge. Airplanes have this problem- if they stop, they fall down. So this definitely means dealing with fast moving targets, and at relatively long distances. The camera used for photographing the airshow is a Nikon D200 SLR. Didn’t get too much information about the Lens used, so lets call it a kick-ass high quality zoom lens. Get one if you want to get good results when photographing the next airshow you visit. Here are some great samples:

Photographed a challenging scene and lived to tell? Show it off!
